Biography
Susan Reutzel-Edens is an experienced executive leader with nearly three decades of science team leadership in the pharmaceutical industry (Eli Lilly and Company). She led a team of cross-functional scientists charged with finding commercially viable crystalline forms for small-molecule drug products. She has two years’ experience as Head of Science, overseeing science R&D innovation at the Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre. She has contributed to the development of more than 150 compounds, is a named inventor on 12 US patents, and has published over 60 papers and book chapters on key aspects of solid form development. Her research interests span diverse topics in organic solid-state crystal chemistry and pharmaceutical materials science, including polymorphism, crystallization, structure-property relationships, solid form screening, crystal structure prediction, and digital design. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and serves on the CrystEngComm Editorial Board, the Editorial Advisory Boards of Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Molecular Pharmaceutics, and Pharmaceutical Research, and as a topic editor for Crystal Growth & Design.
